59,380 BABY BOXES DELIVERED TO FAMILIES ACROSS NHS LOTHIAN
Almond Valley MSP Angela Constance has welcomed new figures showing that 59,380 Baby Boxes have been delivered to families across NHS Lothian since the scheme began.
The Scottish Government launched the Baby Box in 2017 to ensure every newborn in Scotland receives a box filled with essential items, supporting families and helping to give every child the best possible start in life.
Across Scotland, over 335,000 boxes have now been distributed since the project’s inception.
Commenting, Angela Constance MSP said:
“It’s heartening to know that 59,380 families across NHS Lothian have benefited from the Baby Box since it was introduced. This simple but powerful support helps ease some of the financial pressures on new parents and ensures every baby gets a strong, equal start in life.
“Alongside the Scottish Child Payment, the Baby Box plays a key part in our wider efforts to tackle child poverty and support families during what should be a joyful but challenging time.”
