MSP SUPPORTS BOOTS' ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMME IN LIVINGSTON

Angela Constance MSP for Almond Valley visited a branch of Boots the Chemist in Livingston to learn more about their provision of pharmacy services at a local level, thus helping to relieve strain on acute services by providing community-based services and reducing the financial burden on the NHS, whether the local GP or nearby Accident & Emergency department. 

Commenting after the visit, Angela Constance MSP said:

"Local pharmacies are often under utilised.  I was very encouraged to hear of the services provided by Boots in Livingston who provide a range of services on a walk-in basis.  Their mission is clearly to improve the health of our community with providing easy access to their qualified pharmacy team.  Prescribing pharmacists are available who can triage individuals and provide advice and assistance for common minor illnesses"
