Stage 1 Debate - Period Products (Free Provision) (Scotland) Bill

I was pleased to speak in Stage 1 Debate - Period Products (Free Provision) (Scotland) Bill. I have an attachment to this issue from my time in Government when I took the ball from public health and kicked it into the park as a gender equality and poverty issue. I will be following this Bill carefully as we go through Stage 2 and Stage 3. While it will be magnificent when Scotland becomes the first country in the world to pass the legislation, I want to keep close to our hearts the women who need support most, whether its the women with endometriosis or the 320,000 women of menstruating age who live in poverty, we are only reaching 11% of these women. Supporting these women with the consequences of poverty should be the barometer of our success
