Angela Constance MSP Supports Livingston Village Residents in Campaign for Bus Service

Angela Constance MSP has thrown her support behind a campaign by residents in Livingston Village who are calling for the reinstatement of a local bus service.

At a meeting in the Livingston Inn, residents – many of them retired or older people – described how the lack of a local bus has left them cut off from essential services, social contact, and everyday activities. The MSP was pleased to accept a petition organised by local resident Laura Bell.

Speaking after the meeting, Angela Constance MSP said:

“The strong turnout shows just how vital this issue is. For many, especially older residents, a regular and accessible bus service isn’t a luxury – it’s a lifeline.

I’ve already raised the issue with Lothian Country, who have committed to reviewing the service. I’ll now be pressing for a clear timetable and asking them to be flexible and community-minded in their approach.

The community have my full support, and I’ll continue working with them to focus on practical solutions that tackle isolation and improve access.”

Angela and her team will remain in regular contact with local residents and will continue to pursue the issue with Lothian Country to ensure the voices of Livingston Village are heard.
