2022 has been a hard year for many in West Lothian. The cost-of-living crisis and the pressures on our public services and those in our communities have never been greater.
As your MSP for Almond Valley I am grateful and humbled by the sense of community and the efforts by many who continue to help those struggling with the rising cost of food and fuel.
The current cold snap has brought these pressures into sharp focus and the resilience and compassion of local folk has never been more needed. Equally, the efforts of those working in our public services, voluntary and community organisations are hugely appreciated as they strive to deliver their best for all of us as the Winter deepens.
The pandemic hasn’t left us. I know Christmas can be a lonely and difficult time. We must look out for family and neighbours. Kindness costs nothing.
Nobody knows what 2023 will bring but with kindness to each other, belief and support for and from our loved ones, West Lothian will remain the best place to live in.
For that, I give a special thanks and I wish each of you a Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2023.
