Coronavirus Advicehe refurbished Primary School in East Calder will be backed up by millions of pounds of Scottish Government funding.
Deputy First Minister John Swinney made the announcement that the Scottish Government will be investing £800million in state-of-the-art facilities across the country. West Lothian will see a share of the funding as the planned refurbishment of East Calder Primary will be part of it.
The funds will supplement cash already injected into the project by West Lothian Council as part of stage 2 of the Learning Estate Investment Programme which aims to benefit around 50,000 pupils across Scotland by the end of the next Parliament.
Commenting, Ms Constance said:
“It’s fantastic news that East Calder Primary School will benefit from Scottish Government investment. I am sure pupils, parents and school staff will be looking forward to a newly refurbished school. The Scottish Government has invested heavily in the school estate in West Lothian since 2007 and it has been well established that a good school environment is crucial to a good learning environment.’
