0800-111-4000
Angela Constance MSP has welcomed a new helpline launched by the Scottish Government for those at highest risk from Covid 19. The New Helpline is for those people who do not have family or any support networks and who are disabled, require a mental health service, over 70, pregnant or who receive the winter flu jab. The helpline opening will operate core working hours between 9am - 5pm but will be extended in due course. Callers will be put through to the local council to access services for essential food and medication, emotional support, voluntary groups and social work support for vulnerable children and adults. This is in addition to the support available to the most vulnerable who have to be shielding but nonetheless these individuals can utilise this helpline if they have no family and are struggling to access online services.
Commenting on the new helpline Angela Constance MSP said -
“This new helpline 0800-111-4000 will help those at highest risk of covid 19 to access vital support and it is a good example of local authorities and the Scottish Government working well together to get us through the pandemic. There will be countless volunteers, council employees and social work staff who will be continuing to work tirelessly to provide this life line support and my heartfelt thanks goes to each and everyone of them.”
